Rooted in the world of education, New Media’s first project was a 1995 multi-media program for Jordan’s Furniture called Aducation that taught sixth graders across the state about commercial advertising. New Media then helped to create Flashpoint, a curriculum for court-involved youth, also media-literacy based and funded by the US Dept. of Justice in partnership with then-District Attorney Kevin Burke’s office. Flashpoint was favorably evaluated by Harvard Graduate School of Education and is still in use today in juvenile justice settings around the country.
